Georg Tintner conducts |

In Germany he was assistant conductor of the Vienna People's Opera. After escaping from Germany, he finally arrived in New Zealand, moving to Australia in 1954 as Resident Conductor of the National Opera. In the following years he toured Australia widely and pioneered television opera. Tintner was described as "one of the greatest living Bruckner conductors." He died in October 1999. |
