Scotland on drive from London to Edinburgh |
Britons (and Danes) who live in geographically smaller countries than Canada have a different perception of what a large distance represents. Edinburgh is about 410 miles from London and when I was living in London that seemed like a reasonable distance to travel on a two day weekend. During our chats about our weekend back in the staff room at my grammar school, the teachers were dumbfounded that I had just popped up to Edinburgh for the weekend. This photograph was taken from the roadside. I used a dark red filter on the lens of the camera to cut through the haze on the distant hills. |
